Product Details

When Jessica first tasted these low intervention wines, she immediately knew they deserved a place in the Mouse & Grape collection. Inspired by the rising popularity of orange and low-intervention wines, and their remarkable ability to pair with cheese, this unique hamper was crafted—perfect for the adventurous wine lover. What makes these wines even more special is that they are made in the UK. If you would like to learn more about pairing orange wine and cheese, check out our blog here.

Within the hamper, you’ll discover two exceptional wines from the “Don’t Feed The Ponies” range by Sandridge Barton. The vineyard, established in 2008 in the lush Dart Valley of Devon, is situated 3 kilometres downriver from our original site on the Sharpham Estate. Here, 32 acres of vines produce over 80 tonnes of grapes annually.

The Wines

The first wine ‘Little Bee’, a Pinot Gris orange wine, showcases the art of minimal intervention. Crafted with 100% skin-contact, it features a complex bouquet of ruby grapefruit and white strawberry, leading to a palate bursting with raspberry and stone fruit flavours, all culminating in a long, satisfying finish.

The second wine, a Col Fondo ‘Figgie Daniel’ natural sparkler, revives the traditional method of including the lees in the bottle, creating a vibrant blend of green apple, lemon rind, and elderflower. This unfiltered and unfined wine is best enjoyed with a gentle shake before serving to unlock its full, lively potential.

Accompanying the wines are four exquisite European and British cheeses, selected not for their regional origins but for their complementary flavours, designed to create magical taste sensations.

Each purchase from this experimental range supports the Dartmoor Preservation Association, aiding in the conservation of the beautiful landscapes that influence our vineyards.
