Description
An absolutely stunning Haut-Médoc! Full-bodied, deep coloured, and dry with fine tannins that are harmoniously balanced. Aromas of cooked fruits and flavours of cassis, plum, and cedar are underscored with a hint of toast and dried tobacco from the oak ageing.
History and Winemaking
Château Cissac, an ancient estate with a long tradition of vine cultivation, is now managed by Marie Vialard, a direct descendant. Located in the Médoc region, it adjoins prestigious appellations like Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac. The vineyards predominantly feature Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot and Petit Verdot, resulting in complex and expressive wines. The estate emphasises respect for climate, terroir, and traditional winemaking, while also modernising to optimise quality and intensity.
Tasting Notes
This wine offers a full-bodied and deep-coloured profile, with dry and fine tannins harmoniously balanced. Aromas of cooked fruits complement flavours of cassis, plum, and cedar, with a hint of toast and dried tobacco from oak ageing, adding complexity and depth.
Pairings
Pair Château Cissac Haut-Médoc with rich meats, such as beef or lamb, and aged cheeses. Its rich and fruity profile also complements hearty stews and grilled vegetables.
