Tasting Notes
Pale lemon coloured with green tints, this wine is full of white peach, apple and mineral notes with great balance between a creamy smoothness and a zesty citrus acidity.
Producer/History
Ormarine is a model modern co-operative created in the 1920s in Pinet, which has grown in the 21st century with the merger of five local cellars in this part of the Languedoc. There are currently 450 members spread across 50 villages and this has allowed them to invest in the best winemaking facilities. One of the most important producers in Pinet, the quality level here is high across all of their range, with the La Viste cuvée coming from their finest vineyards.
Winemaking
La Viste is vinified at the Ormarine cooperative using fruit from a small domaine of the same name. The grapes are totally hand-harvested and sorted. After a 8-hours skin contact, the grapes are gently pneumatically pressed. The fermentation is carried out at low temperature (16°C) in stainless steel tank in order to keep as much fruit as possible. A 3 months ageing on the lees follows before bottling.
