Description
Fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, this Sicilian white wine showcases the essence of the Catarratto grape. Zesty citrus, green apple, and pear lead the palate, complemented by delicate floral and herbal notes. The refreshing acidity and light minerality make for a crisp, dry, and easy-drinking experience. With a lower alcohol content of 10.5%, this wine is a great choice for those seeking a lighter, more refreshing option without compromising on flavour.
History and Winemaking
Cantine Birgi, founded in 1960, sits in the heart of Trapani province, a region with a winemaking heritage dating back thousands of years. The cooperative is made up of around a thousand dedicated growers, cultivating their vineyards with traditional methods and hand-harvesting the grapes to ensure the highest quality. Thanks to the unique combination of coastal breezes, mineral-rich soils, and meticulous vineyard management, the winery produces wines that truly reflect the character of the land. Every stage of production follows strict traceability protocols, from vineyard to bottle, ensuring excellence in every glass.
Tasting Notes
A refreshing and aromatic white wine with lively notes of lemon zest, ripe pear, and white peach, intertwined with hints of wild herbs and orange blossom. A crisp minerality and bright acidity lead to a clean, dry finish with a lingering citrus twist.
Pairings
Perfect with seafood dishes like grilled prawns, fresh oysters, or Sicilian-style swordfish. It also pairs wonderfully with light pasta dishes, summer salads, or soft cheeses such as Ricotta, La Tur, or young Pecorino.
