History and Winemaking

Introducing the flagship creation of the esteemed Istenic family, nestled amidst the picturesque rolling hills of eastern Slovenia. Paying homage to the founder’s roots as Slovenia’s national goalkeeper, the wine derives its name from Janez Istenic’s cherished football jersey. Crafted using the time-honoured traditional method employed in the production of Champagne, this exquisite wine blends two iconic Champagne grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with the native Rumeni Plavac, imparting a delightful hint of white peach to its flavour profile.
